Mathswizards products have been developed for busy teachers who require well produced material. I worked as a specialist mathematics teacher for over 30 years and I also developed my own Mathswizard clubs for primary aged pupils. The products are mainly Power Points but not exclusively. They are usually games, puzzles and quizzes or activities built around a theme. The Taster products showcase an activity from the full length resource. I have had my work included in the KS4 Maths Boardworks.

Using ratio to multiply quantities in recipes. 'Toad in the Hole' is the first recipe. Using the worksheet with 12 'Toad in the Hole' recipes, students have to identify the mistakes made. The PowerPoint shows the mistakes on animated slides. 'Cheese straws' is a second extended question.
This fun game is to be used on an interactive board with 2 students competing to get the most correct. The properties of a quadrilateral are given and the student has to identify the correct one from 6 choices.. They have 10 or 5 seconds to answer depending on the version chosen. This can be used as a starter or plenary. The latest review for this resource on another site - "Excellent product".
Teams of children solve the following maths puzzles: Falling snowballs, Christmas puddings, Christmas stockings, Snow Mobiles and Christmas trees. The maths used includes, squares, factors, multiples, calculations, ordering decimals, identifying shapes and continuing a sequence. There is a score sheet slide which can be used to record points using keyboard . There is a separate answer sheet for recording answers. After each round the teams swap sheets to mark their answers. The slides are fully animated including sound. "This was a blast for those last few days before Christmas break! Thanks for the creation!" One comment from a previous site.
A fun way of revising 3 topics. Electricity, Light, Space and Stars. What T is needed to step down voltage? What L change speed and direction as they travel from one material to another? What H was the only element present in the early universe? Each board has 20 questions. This is a fully animated resource. Click a picture to reveal a letter. Play the game as in the original TV game. There is a template with instructions on how to add further game boards.
3 New games based on the TV show and board game. There are General Knowledge, Historical and Science Boards. What A is a book of Maps called? What G in roman times fought in an arena? What G gives weight to objects? Included is a template with instructions for setting up your own board. Each of the colourful pictures gives a clue about the type of question beneath. Give us a T Bob.
This resource developed for KS2 to increase the recall of facts in a fun way.
Based on the TV show and boardgame, 3 themed boards for Halloween, Christmas and Easter have mathematical questions on doubling and halving to 100. These boards could be easily edited to make your own customised boards with easier or harder questions
**Five resources each with a different focus.
Including revising equations and inequalities.
Formulae in real life situations.

Colourful Powerpoint with activities connected to skateboarding. The activities include online sales of skateboards, side elevations of skateboarding ramps and deck arrangements on different sized veneer. This PowerPoint could be used as a whole lesson or split into several sections to be used separately. (15 slides)
The following maths is included.
• understand and use whole numbers and understand in practical contexts
• add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers using a range of strategies
• add and subtract decimals up to two decimal places
• solve problems requiring calculation, with common measures, including money, length.
• work out areas and perimeters in practical situations
• construct geometric diagrams, models and shapes
• extract and interpret information from tables, diagrams, charts.
This power point has been designed to cover many of the learning outcomes in the Edexcel course based on the environment of a spa. Treatments, Spa Days, Tiling a Pool, Sauna Temperatures and Class Activities have been chosen with the following maths included.
understand and use whole numbers in practical contexts
• add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers using a range of strategies
• understand and use equivalences between common fractions, decimals and percentages
• solve problems requiring calculation, with common measures, including money, time, length, and temperature
• work out areas and perimeters in practical situations
• extract and interpret information from tables, diagrams, charts and graphs
• collect and record discrete data and organise and represent information in different ways
• find mean and range
• use data to assess the likelihood of an outcome.
Formula 1 racing data is used to explore the functional skills needed for level 1. Top racing drivers 2016, top teams, prices for Australian Grand Prix 2017, fuel gauges and finally a link to RoSPA website for a simulation on stopping distances to investigate pedestrian outcomes when hit by car if driver drinking, using a mobile phone or wet road. This data can be entered into PowerPoint via keyboard. (13 Slides)

Five fantastic maths problems to delight and challenge. In Cracked Eggs, 10 eggs have been incorrectly put back together. By matching the calculations to make numbers between 30 and 39 a solution can be found. Vectors have been used in Easter Egg Hunt to translate Easter eggs around a grid. A simple animation shows students how to work out vectors if this is new to them. Hot Cross Buns are sold in packs of 3 sizes. Finding combinations of packs up to 20 will solve this problem. In Easter Parade a girl wants to decorate a hat with flowers. But how many will she need? Finally the fox is on the lookout for his lunch. Numbered hens are put into hutches by sorting them into even, prime and multiples of 9. Each round is marked by another team during the quiz and the teacher records t he scores on the score slide using the keyboard. Accessible to years 4.5 or 6. Some groups will need more help than others to complete the rounds. This will influence time taken for quiz. Works well with all pupils using individual whiteboards, then collating answers for team.
Four teams race to the top of the pyramid by answering questions about Ancient Egypt. There are 60 slides with 56 questions. It is an ideal fun resource to round off a topic . Once the dice is thrown a question is accessed on one of 4 game boards. Teams Pyramid, Camel, Hieroglyph and Sphinx compete to show their knowledge. The game could be used with a class or with small groups of pupils. Watch the video of this PowerPoint here

Problems from India, Babylonia, Italy, Greece and a method of multiplication from Egypt are included in this PowerPoint of multicultural maths. Each is a standalone activity. Three problems involve the building and solving of an equation. One problem involves four vessels which have to be filled and emptied to share a liquid equally. Each problem has a solution slide. The slides are animated.
This animated and interesting Power Point is based on The Cinema. Students have to decide which film 7 different groups of Cinema-goers are going to watch. Time in 24hr clock has to be converted to am/pm. The cost of tickets and also the length of the films, and adverts have to be considered. The second part of the lesson involves allocating seats with constraints and the cost of refurbishing the seating.
