I develop my own TESOL teaching resources, specifically aimed at adult learners at a range of abilities. My classes are beginner (CEFR A1-2), pre-intermediate (CEFR B1), upper intermediate (CEFR B2), and advanced (CEFR C1-2). I offer a range of topics including speaking, culture, grammar. In addition, I combine my passion for history with my EFL teaching experience in my History classes.

This is a beginner (CEFR A2, IELTS 4.0) EFL speaking class (suitable for adults due to references to alcohol) about food and drink. Students begin the class by brainstorming different types of food, after which they discuss some questions with a partner. Next, students learn some vocabulary (pie, yoghurt, breakfast cereal, seafood, crisps, cake) and complete a concept check exercise. Students then have another opportunity to discuss the target language with a partner. Next, students learn some common drinks (soft drinks, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, soy milk, beer). Finally, students engage in freer activities including agree or disagree, and rank and defend.

This is a beginner (CEFR A2, IELTS 4.0) EFL speaking class about feelings. Students will learn vocabulary related to feelings, after which they learn the pronunciation of each word. Then there is a concept check exercise to confirm the students’ understanding. Finally, students discuss in free activities.

This is a beginner (CEFR A2, IELTS 4.0) EFL speaking class about family. Students begin by looking at a picture of a family for context. Next, they discuss with a partner some basic questions about family members. After that, there is a short reading activity after which students answer true or false questions about the information in the text. Students then complete a concept checking exercise followed by another discussion. The class ends with two more free practice activities using the target language.

This is a beginner (CEFR A2, IELTS 4.0) EFL speaking class about clothing. The class begins with a brainstorm activity, followed by a short discussion for students. Students then learn some vocabulary about clothing, after which they check their understanding with a gap fill exercise. Students have another short discussion then they play a game of Guess Who using an image of different people. This is followed by a short reading activity and a comprehension activity. Some further vocabulary describing clothing allows students to complete the final free speaking activity, in which they describe people’s clothing.

Students will learn vocabulary related to hospitals, after which they use the vocabulary in a sentence to confirm their understanding. Students then learn the pronunciation of each word.
