Having taught primary school for 18 years within the state and private sector, I have honed many skills and creating tried and tested resources in my spare time, is one of them. All of my resources produce exceptional book and lesson outcomes and as well as consistency in writing across the week. I’ve also spent several successful years working as an English Lead leading various initiatives and supporting and advising colleagues.

This is a 5 day tried and tested DIFFERENTIATED TEACHING POWERPOINT complete with success criteria’s for the task and differentiated scaffolds as well as accompanying resources. All the lessons follow in sequence and the ideas lead up to the long writing task which is to write a postcard and the learners’ can use their ideas from Day 1 to Day 4. It includes a word banks to support EAL/SEN learners. This lesson is structured based on the best pedagogical approaches to use in the classroom such as AFL questions to gather what learners’ already know, the use of talk partners to share learning, allowing learners to choose their own task from MILD, SPICY and HOT (this works wonders for their self-esteem) The tasks are differentiated and progressive and the assessment at the end of the lesson is based on the success criteria. Lesson 1: To identify nouns in a picture. Lesson 2: To answer a range of questions. Lesson 3: To make a prediction. Lesson 4: To use capital letters and full stops. Lesson 5: To write a postcard.
