A cutting and sticking activity in which pupils work out which points relate to overhead cables and which are for underground cables. Designed for my bottom set Year 10s. A quiz in the format of an i-phone app. Pupils look at the 4 pictures and decide what the key word is using the letters at the bottom. All the words are linked to the Chemistry GCSE making this a useful revision aid. To those asking how you make your own, I used screen shots of the game (from Google) and copied and pasted my own images over the top. I then cut and pasted the correct letters from different screen shots to make sure the right letters were available. It was very time consuming but the pupils loved it so it was worth it.

A blank periodic table showing the first 36 elements. The names are listed at the bottom, pupils try to slot them into the right place from memory. A good starter, could be a competitions for who can get the most in the right place.

Easy to follow lesson that ends with pupils creating an anti-smoking advert. Could be recorded and played back to the class.

Students given a sheet each and have a set amount of time to think of something for each category beginning with A, B, C, D and E. Prize can be given for best answers. This is just a fun starter to get students thinking at the start of a lesson. I have included some suggested answers.

A powerpoint to teach metallic bonding and structure to Year 12. It takes the form of a series of questions for pupils to attempt to answer from their GCSE knowledge before the answers are revealed. Goes well with my metal bingo starter. Please leave feedback.

Teaches students the meaning of the words "outlier", "ranger", "mean", "best estimate", "hypothesis" and "true value". Aimed at a lower ability group.

Students copy 3 x 2 grid into books and choose 6 words to write in grid. Each slide gives clues to the identity of a metal. students work out which metal it is and cross it off if they have it. First student to correctly get 3 in a row win. Created as a starter for a 11th Graders(junior) lesson on metallic.

Cut out pictures and laminate. Pupils put cards in order from most acidic to most alkaline.
