Many of my children from Year 1-Year 6 are addicted to the game Fortnite. This is an assembly that highlights some problems with the game and opens it all up for a discussion with the children. It can be adapted for KS3 children aswell- where you would be able to go deeper into the topic.

Billy is classed as a naughty child, and the teachers he has treat him as such, but there are probably reasons for his bad behaviour. As a class discuss the scenarios and decide whether you think that Billy is bad, or is treated badly.

A series of pictures which demonstrate how I inspired a Year 3 class. They were poor, unenthusiastic writers, but this lesson got them quite excited. In groups of 3 they were working on describing a setting, based on a small village, river and mountain. Most pictures had 3 differentiated activities and some were just one paragraph of writing. The lesson took place over 2 writing lessons.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas Reading Comprehension KS2/3. Based on chapter 1 this is a full RC that can be used for KS2 SATS, or as a novel study in KS2/3. 20 questions that ensure the children are retrieving and inferring, whilst understanding vocabulary.

A Year 3 Maths resource. The original lesson focuses on the creative activity of building a Predator Park with a budget. This was specifically a maths lesson, but can easily be turned into a cross curricular lesson with ICT and DT. Originally intended for a top year 3 maths group this PPT can be used for discussion about budgets and why certain animals cost more than others.

An excellent lesson for a class who either has low self esteem, or some behaviour difficulties. As a Deputy Head I have used this many times with my classes. Sometimes it descends into organised chaos with children loving the compliments.

A resource used for Year 3 children which was part of a project that built a Predator Park. This is a lesson that encourages discussion and preconcieved ideas.

An excellent way of tracking within the primary school. This can be used to track children in any year group. When I use the Venn Diagram I place tracing paper over the top to show how they have improved. This also forms part of any Pupil Progress meetings I have with my staff.
