The Resources within this shop are all designed for the teaching of Mathematics for those in the age range 7 - 18 years old. Most resources consist of a PowerPoint lesson followed by a worksheet for the students. With over twenty nine years of experience, the powerpoint/worksheets within the shop have been used successfully by myself and colleagues over that time. As a head of department for over 15 years, the department has yearly been judged as adding substantial value to students grades.

The assumption is that students will already know how tho find the area of a circle and the circumference of a circle. Through worked examples students learn how to work out the area of a sector or the length of an arc.

Now that students must learn the formula for the area of a trapezium I have shown how the formula is created through the knowledge of the area of a triangle. Through worked examples students learn how to apply these formulae.

I usually use this lesson before I introduce student to the "fx" column and therefore questions involving the frequency table.

Next by placing the data into a tally chart it is easy to show how much quicker it is to calculate the mean when presented in this format rather than a list of numbers.
