The Resources within this shop are all designed for the teaching of Mathematics for those in the age range 7 - 18 years old. Most resources consist of a PowerPoint lesson followed by a worksheet for the students. With over twenty nine years of experience, the powerpoint/worksheets within the shop have been used successfully by myself and colleagues over that time. As a head of department for over 15 years, the department has yearly been judged as adding substantial value to students grades.

GCSE Mathematics : Exact Trig Values

This lesson teaches students the exact trig values for the sin cos and tan of 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees. The lesson shows two ways to remember the values by either table or triangles. The lesson is also accompanied with several worksheets. The idea being that one worksheet is given at the end of teaching the lesson for students to demonstrate what they now know. Then throughout the year or two further worksheets can be given to check on them retaining the information taught.

This lesson and worksheet teaches students how to draw a stem and leaf diagram and also how it can be used to calculate the median and range. As a bonus I have also included an Excel worksheet Generator which allows you to create an infinite number of worksheets on stem & leaf for those who require additional practice. The lesson is mainly aimed at key stage 4 students studying GCSE mathematics, however it can also be used in any key stage 3 maths lesson. (Note available for Both PC and Mac)

These 5 lessons introduce students to Ratio and proportion. Lesson 1: Simplifying a ratio and expressing a ratio as a fraction Lesson 2: Expressing as a ratio and simplifying Lesson 3: Dividing into a ratio using the totals in ratio Lesson 4: Dividing into a ratio using one of the given parts Lesson 5: Dividing into a ratio when using the difference between two ratios or the sum of some parts. Each lesson consists of a PowerPoint, printed examples (if preferred ) and a workbook (which I usually print as an A5 booklet). Solutions are given for the workbooks.

Suitable for both KS2 and KS3 students. Due to COVID the way we teach has altered somewhat. These days I find it easier to have my examples preprinted with students filling in the gaps between examples in class with the aid of the teacher at the front. A workbook is then provided which allows the student to answer directly in the book. Note: I tend to print the examples as A4 and the workbook as an A5 booklet. Lesson 1: Examples and workbook on Decimal place value. Lesson 2: Examples and workbook on Addition of decimals Lesson 3: Examples and workbook on Subtraction of decimals Lesson 4: Examples and workbook on Multiplication of decimals The examples are also available to buy as a PowerPoint lesson on the shop.

Area & Perimeter of a rectangle

These two lessons I usually teach to year 7 students. However it could be taught at primary of even higher than year 7, if students struggle with area and perimeter. The powerPoints consist of worked examples demonstrating how we find the area of a rectangle or perimeter.

Types of Triangles & Quadrilaterals

Here are two powerpoint lessons which give information and properties to all the types of triangles and quadrilaterals which younger students need to know about. The first lesson looks at equilateral, isosceles, right angled and scalene triangles and lists other properties such lines of symmetry and rotational symmetry. The second lesson then looks at the quadrilaterals such as squares, rectangles, the parallelogram, trapezium and kite. This is concluded with a worksheet and answers. The recent edit now includes examples where students must plot coordinates and then name the polygon drawn.
