In year 3, children need to master all timetables as it is paramount that they have these going on to the further years of primary school. Here is a worksheet mastering the 8x tables but also gets them to do bar models and column multiplication.

This is worksheet has been made around a lesson where I want the children to decide which is better to do. Adding/subtract the numbers mentally or use the column method. Children either want to answer a sum quickly mentally and get it wrong or spend ages doing a column method when they could work it out mentally in seconds. I'm going to go through what to look for when deciding to add/subtract mentally or through the column method.

A worksheet with column subtractions. Starts off with no borrowing, one lot of borrowing and then two lots of borrowing. Children to then show mastery by solving two column subtractions in greater depth. Missing numbers in column addition/subtraction will come next week!
