Aims for the use of this Booklet: This booklet will help schools support students in developing positive aspirations for the future; the statement produced will help teachers to address the needs of individual students (Gatesby BM 3) and then provide evidence for encounters with employers and employees (Gatesby BM 5) as in Practice Interviews, for example. A positive Careers statement will serve any young person well and advertise their skills, achievements and experiences to future employers and for College and University applications. This extensive step by step booklet can be used for KS4 and Post 16 students alike, as both age groups would benefit from using such a statement alongside their CV. The aim of this booklet is to guide students in to writing a Careers Statement, that helps to show off their strengths, personality and achievements during their school career and to bring together the positives of their educational journey to date.

A Mini module for students to help them reflect upon their behaviour; it is ideally suited for 1-1 intervention work, although it has been delivered in class, as part of a life skills programme. The module is based on training in basic behaviour management for staff that I delivered, which I turned on its head to help students reflect upon their actions, by putting them in the shoes of the teacher. The resource is part of the behaviour management series I have added here that includes, ‘Positive Teacher Language for Behaviour Incidents’, 'Using Appropriate Questions to Re-focus Students and Behaviour Support Packs 1 and 2.

An 8 week module for KS3/KS4 or for students in Alternative Provision. There is a focus on how students develop their own self respect, alongside how respect should be shown for others. A useful tool/template that can be completed by students in year 9 - 11, to help them track future career plans and identify the steps they need to take in order for them to achieve their goal. Help students answer three key questions: Where are they now? Where do they want to be in 5 years time? What do they need to do to get there?

A mini-module that I wrote for Life Skills lessons in my role as Head of a PRU. It challenges the students to reflect upon using more appropriate language in and around the school site and to look at alternatives to the inappropriate words students would often use. This resource can be slotted in at any stage to a PSHE, Life Skills or Citizenship Programme.

A mini module that can be incorporated into any careers Program, that prepares a student for attending an interview, or indeed to support them in preparing for any school based interview process.

A module of work that can be easily slotted in to any PSHE or Careers Programme for KS3 or KS4. The module focuses on student aspirations and their hopes for the future; it’s lesson by lesson format helps students to identify their own skills and those which employers may look for. It links in to job adverts and helps students obtain a better understanding of adverts when looking for potential jobs/careers. It concludes with students reflecting upon what it takes to become successful and what they need to do to achieve their life ambitions.

An mini module that can be used to introduce drug education with upper Primary or lower secondary and SEN students.

Introducing Relationships Education This is an ideal module of work to introduce the importance of positive relationships at home and in school. The 5-6 week module identifies clear lesson by lesson planning and resources that focuses on relationships at home, in school and with friends and encourages students to reflect upon their own experiences.

This in-depth 10-12 week module can be delivered as part of any Life Skills or PSHE Programme in upper primary or lower KS3 age groups. The module focuses on supporting students to become more independent in their learning; topics include: Personal organisation Time management Memory work What a good learner looks like What good learning looks like How to manage distractions in learning What to do when they get stuck Developing ‘Noticing’ Skills Identifying strengths Going for ‘Goal’

This is Part 3 of 3 Behaviour Support Programmes for Students. The BSP Part 3 is a module of work that can be used with students who are at risk of FTE or indeed have received multiple FTE previously. The work would be ideally suited to students in Alternative Provision/PRU who have made mistakes, but are willing to reflect to try and improve things for themselves. It fits alongside BSP 1 which is also available. The module consists of 6-8 lessons that cover the following topics: What do I know about FTE? Student attendance continues to come under scrutiny since the Covid Pandemic. The Tracking and Monitoring attendance package contains the appropriate monitoring tools and associated resources/letters/templates to effectively track student attendance in any school. Alongside the resources are appropriate letters that align to different stages of the tracking and an overall monitoring chart to be used by the attendance officer, to track referrals and cases which require additional follow up. In addition I have added monthly Red/Amber/Green Letters which are an additional monthly resource to inform parents of their students attendance and how it aligns to school expectations. I have also added a template that helps staff to identify historical attendance and exemplar narrative to help you use the appropriate language used by monitoring agencies. I have used this bundle of tools to track attendance in all of my roles in the past 6 years and it has proved very effective and easy to use.
