This is the third in the series of My Colour Books for Early years and KS1 children. It is themed for Summer with colourful graphics. The tasks are to complete sentences using the correct colours, visual awareness is important and recognition of colours essential. There are also two wordmaps which could be laminated one on Seaside words and one on colours. These could be used as aids for writing ecxercises. The children will also be asked to complete some reading activities putting in a missing colour word, this will test understanding of what has been read. This can also be bought as part of a bundle.

Are you ever stuck for ideas to help promote the learning of spellings? This 20 page PDF file consists of a variety of activities children will enjoy doing to help them learn their spellings. They are suitable activities for the entire primary school. The file can be printed out and each page laminated to use in class. Once laminated they will last forever. The activities provide fun things to do for the children. Activities include alphabetical order, vowels and consonants, writing silly sentences with spelling words, creating pictures with hidden words, creating word searches, computer activities, sentence construction, story and poetry writing, games, opposites and rhyming words. The children will read about the reasons for fasting, the importance of the number 40, reflection and self-discipline, Jesus' suffering and pain, the origins of Mothering Sunday, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and the use of the colour purple in churches. Having read the various fact sheets, they will then complete worksheets on what they have learned, poetry and story writing, writings about their mothers, words they have learned and their meanings, a few drawing activities and facts about my favourite pancake. The children are asked to research the internet after reading facts and information about the World Cup, its host and the teams involved. There are also a variety of numeracy and literacy activities including multiplication, division, function boxes,dictionary work, spelling activities and looking at healthy lifestyle and diet.
