Stronger groups may want to do this as a significant lesson if you tell this story at the end of the Civil Rights Movement.
This is a basic lesson which encourages students to research important African-Americans and their contributions to society. This can be combined with my Historical Significance lesson.
The timeline is the basic info about a political leader who carried on MLK's work in Civil Rights
There are some useful videos located on YouTube.
These sheets work with The Simspons Episode "The Color Yellow" S21 E13
In this episode, Lisa discovers that her ancestors from Florida helped a black slave named Virgil escape to freedom,
This is a good coda lesson after you have taught about the Abolitionists and the End of Slavery in Great Britain. It makes use of the song as evidence and frames the factors behind abolition in a different light.
I recommend having different versions of the song, so you can have them playing for students unfamiliar with the song. Home Free Vocal Band have a wonderful acapella version.
These are some of the photographs that I took at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis TN, during the summer of 2015.
The chart the journey from Slavery to the Civil Rights Movement.

This missing word work sheet would work best if completed whilst watching the episode from the Monarchy series. However, it can be completed for the most part using common sense. The sheet can, therefore, be used a primer for Henry VIII or as a revision lesson up to the execution of Anne. (Perhaps even as a cover lesson)

some pupils will not have made so much progress and will: explain all key terms correctly, note historical content and assess the possible consequences – Possible Timeline
This pack contains three possible assessments that use sources as evidence for students to give an opinion on the British Empire.
The John Bull Assessment would require some prior knowledge. The Mark scheme is quite detailed.
The PPT is simple and has the images of the "Events - Chronological" to use as a starter and get responses from students.
There is also a slide of famous "pop" musicians from different times
Then there is a slide that has the images of "Music Chronological" which asks the students to arrange the method for listening to music in chronological order. I have had students attempt this on the board after they have attempted it on the sheet. Many students do not even recognise the items. I suggest labelling them with your class before an attempt if they or you are unsure.
There are ALL the word searches, and due to their nature, they can be used in any or targetted lessons as starters or activities.
The handout is useful for students to have KEY TERMS in their books
The poster allows you to refer to them in the classroom
Word searches are there as a simple activity to complete.
This PAID Version gives you ALL the word searches in PDF and DOCX format and the Historical Skills Poster in PPTX, which can be edited to suit your curriculum.
FREE Version with PDFs and just two word searches is at https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/historical-skills-posters-and-word-search-free-11716724
