One of Trump's strengths during a protracted promotional campaign leading up to the election was an EXCELLENT media team who produced a number of exceedingly clever media texts to present Trump as the hero waiting in the wings to save the nation! Obviously, Trump is a contentious issue and a few students got quite sniffy initially but the focus is on the SUCCESS OF THIS MEDIA CAMPAIGN not Trump himself and once made clear, the students really enjoyed the lessons on this. Great debates ensued amongst my students- although many dislike Trump it is without question that the American media were against him and you need to start from this perspective. It is so interesting.
