Colour Monster Feelings Dice Activity! 3D Cube Net Template with Colour Monsters (by Anna Llenas). Instructions: Print the sheets (ideally on card) on A4 (or A3 for a large teacher version). Students are to create their dice by folding as sticking (they can choose from dice templates with the monsters, just the words or plain dice to make their own from scratch). Students then roll the dice and they have to say a time in their life when they felt that emotion. Another idea is that they talk about what that feeling means to them. A third idea is to talk about when they might feel that feeling in the future. I used this in an outstanding lesson at the beginning of the school year. Colour Monster Feelings Descriptions Activity! A4 Template with all Colour Monsters (by Anna Llenas). Instructions: Print the sheets on A4 (teachers can choose any of the designs to help with differentiation / preference): First two sheets: these have lines to help the children write a few sentences about each emotion (I print these back to back). Second two sheets are the same but have rectangles to write in instead of lines for less able writers. The final sheet is all the monsters on one page (these make great displays for classroom walls). I usually read the Colour Monster book then show the give these to the children. Another idea is that they talk about what that feeling means to them. The attached PowerPoint and PDF files have two pages as follows: Page One Features page: the children are to think of the following things about their character and write these in the boxes surrounding the character: The character’s likes The character’s dislikes The character’s feelings The character’s friends The character’s family The character’s hopes The character’s fears The character’s house The character’s hobbies The character’s past The character’s present The character’s future The character’s problems The character’s solutions Page Two The task states ‘Now that you have a list of features for your character, write a character profile to describe the character.’ On this page there is an image of the character and a whole lines page for the students to add lots of detail in sentences. HARRY POTTER STORY DICE TO CREATE YOUR VERY OWN STORY! 3D Cube Nets Dice to Roll, FUN English Game. These are brilliant, especially if a student is struggling to think of his/her own ideas for a Harry Potter themed story… They simply have to roll the five dice at once! Dice One will give them their characters Hogwarts House: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and 2 x ‘Choose Your Own’ Squares. Dice Two will give them a main setting out of: Hogswarts, Hogsmeade, Privet Drive, Quidditch Pitch, Forbidden Forest or Azkaban Prison. Dice Three will give them their main character out of: Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Luna or Neville. Dice Four will give them their main bad character out of: Draco, Lucious, Voldemort, Snape, Filch or Dolores. Dice Five will give them their main problem out of: An attack from: A Snake, a 3 Headed Dog, A Dragon, A Troll, The Whomping Willow or Hundreds of Spiders.
