This lesson introduces students to Macbeth by posing questions in relations to historical context and staging at the time. Throughout the PowerPoint students have to answer questions and engage with images from the play to aid them in their understanding of the play as they read it.

They then answer a series of questions before analysing small extracts that show Macbeth’s internal struggle and also ambition.

The lesson starts with the students’ first impression of Scrooge by analysing an extract describing Scrooge.
