A lesson on the poem ‘London’ by William Blake. Useful for the GCSE AQA Power and Conflict anthology. The lesson has a ‘do now’ activity, context section, summary of the poem and then each line and stanza is broken down and analysed in depth. At the end of the lesson there are some review resources and exemplar essay questions.

PowerPoint analysing ‘England to her Sons’ an early WW1 jingoistic poem by WN Hodgson. This poem is a part of the ‘Up the Line to Death’ poetry anthology and is used extensively in AQA’s English literature A-level, WW1 and Its Aftermath. I have used this with many classes over the years. This resource also includes a knowledge organiser I have made for the poem with references to The Wipers Times for the 2023 examination.
