After its successful relaunch last year, The TES (The Times Educational Supplement) has been rewarded with multiple nominations at two of the publishing industry's top awards ceremonies.

The TES has been shortlisted in three categories in the PPA Magazines 2007 Awards for Editorial and Publishing Excellence.

Widely know as the publishing industry's 'Oscars', the PPA Awards are dedicated to upholding and celebrating the highest standards in all aspects of publishing.

Leading the charge is Bernard Gray, TSL Education’s CEO, nominated in the prestigious Publisher of the Year (Business and Professional) category.

There is also recognition in the Editorial Campaign of the Year category for TES's Time to Care campaign. This initiative aims at raising awareness of the 90,000 children who pass through the care system each year but who consistently fail to thrive in education. The relaunched TES website (www.tes.co.uk) is also part of the success story, being shortlisted for Interactive/online business and professional magazine of the year.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in May.

Meanwhile, The TES has also made two shortlists at the 2007 Newspaper Awards.

The Publication's major increase in colour content and advertising is rewarded in the Most Outstanding Use of Colour category; this seeks to recognise the best application of colour, enhancing the Newspaper’s presentation, quality and customer appeal.

The Paper is also shortlisted for Niche Market Newspaper of the Year award, which is open to all special interest newspapers, with the judges looking for consistent quality over three different issues of the publication.

The Newspaper Awards will be announced on April 24.
