Digital Footprint Classroom Display

Here are all the parts needed to create an attractive display in your computer room to help explain to your students about their digital footprint.

Buy the display set now and instantly brighten your computer room.

HOW CAN YOU USE THIS DISPLAY?
This display works well when positioned:

on a display board in your computer room

in the corridor or

above your whiteboard.
.

PREPARING THE DISPLAY
You have colour and black and white versions. Print only the relevant pages you need for your computer room display. Some pages may require more than one copy (i.e. the footprints to make a walking pattern).

It is best to print the pages in colour, if you can, but I have included a black and white version too to help you save on printing costs. If you are printing in black and white you may wish to print them onto coloured paper to add a bit of interest in your classroom.

I suggest printing the pages on card or laminating each page before cutting out the sections to give a more professional finish. Carefully cut out the sections and add them to your display space (making sure the letters are the right way up and in the correct order).

I’ve include a suggested layout to give you an idea of how you can display these sections in your computer room however you may want to display it slightly differently to fit the space you have.

What are you waiting for? Download this ready to use display pack now and get printing. They are sure to brighten your classroom.

FREE BONUS PRODUCT INCLUDED

As a special thank you for purchasing this product I am pleased to be able to also include a surprise FREE bonus gift. This gift is one of our complete resources which we will usually charge full price for but is yours absolutely free when you purchase this product. Just our little way of saying thank you to our valued customers. I hope you enjoy it and get use out of it, with my compliments.

Classroom Seating Plan.

This seating plan will come as a Microsoft Excel document. Each seat has several boxes next to it where you can place a tick to highlight if that child belongs to a certain vulnerable group; such as EAL / FSM etc. The spreadsheet will then calculate the totals for each set of students.

Room layouts differ but you will be able to drag the cells (whilst keeping all formula working) so that it mirrors your room. (if you are not confident with Spreadsheets, contact me with a layout of your room and I will adapt it for you, perhaps your school operates with different vulnerable groups).

This has been identified as excellent by senior leaders and rolled out throughout the school. It was highlighted as effective practice by Ofsted inspectors.

Seating Planner - Science Classroom

Seating plans are great tool to help you learn the names of your students and sit them according to the data you’ve been given for your students. This great resource is designed to be used as a seating planner for a typical science classroom. Simply pick the layout which best matches your room and then customise the slide. You can then then copy and paste the slide to create a set for your timetable.

When you purchase this resource you will be able to download a Mircosoft PowerPoint which includes eight slides and a title page. Each slide has a standard science classroom layout. On each table there are two name boxes. Simply delete the text and add your pupils names. Please see previews for more information.

The last two slides offer advice on where to sit students based upon research on ‘attention zones’ and the amount of information students retain.

When moving the tables around your template, it sometimes easier to group them together. Once complete, you can beam your new seating plan on your IWB to help you learn their names and so that everyone knows where they are sitting.

Kind Regards

Roy

Classroom Rights and Responsibilities – Back to School

(0)
An effective activity for your students when you are setting up your classroom culture at the beginning of the year. Something a little different to the standard ‘classroom rules’ discussions.

The activity focuses on 4 RIGHTS that your students have at school:
♦ We have the right to learn at school.
♦ We have the right to use school property.
♦ We have the right to be safe at school (physical wellbeing).
♦ We have the right to feel happy at school (emotional wellbeing).

Students brainstorm their responsibilities as a class and write them in the individual honeycomb cell templates. These cells are then cut out and arranged around the ‘rights’ templates. You can add as many honeycomb cells as you wish. Blank cells can be included to fill sections if necessary.

This makes an effective wall display that can be referred to (and added to) throughout the year.

Examples of responsibilities:
♦ We have the right to learn at school – ask for help when I need it.
♦ We have the right to use school property - put equipment away when I have finished with it.
♦ We have the right to be safe at school – don’t throw things in the classroom.
♦ We have the right to feel happy at school - share things with others.

Lists of examples are included to help you guide your students through the discussion / brainstorm sessions.

With your students thinking of the responsibilities and writing them in kid speak, they will take more ownership of the classroom culture than if you just display a list of ‘classroom rules’ on the wall.

An optional activity is also included. It is another template that says ‘We agree to be responsible’. Your students sign their name in a honeycomb cell, cut it out and place it around the centre template.

Included:
♦ Teacher notes and layout examples.
♦ Examples of responsibilities
♦ Student brainstorm pages
♦ 4 ‘rights’ templates (1 per page, colour)
♦ Honeycomb cell templates (6 per page, black/white)
♦ Definition strips of ‘rights’ and ‘responsibilities’ (blank ones also provided so you can write your own meanings of the words).
♦ Additional optional template – ‘We agree to be responsible’

I have also included an editable honeycomb cell template (Powerpoint file). This gives you the option of typing the 'responsibilities' rather than writing them by hand.

Provided in 2 different paper sizes:
♦ A4 paper size
♦ Letter paper size

Keywords: rules, rights, responsibilities, charter, treaty, expectations, procedures, behaviour management, classroom culture, beginning of the year, back to school.

**********************************************************************

© Suzanne Welch Teaching Resources

Design Technology Electronics Microcontroller How 2 Create Circuit Diagrams, PCB layouts & Flowchart

(0)
Genie Microcontrollers offer students a fantastic array of inventive opportunities to develop a broad range of projects. Students are able to use their imagination and solve real life problems with these low cost PIC's, however managing a classroom full of students who all want to develop different circuits can be a challenge.

I developed the Genie how 2 book in order to give students the opportunity to independently create their own circuits with minimal teacher support.

The students start by creating a basic Genie E18 circuit (I have found this to be the most versatile and best value for money). The student then use the guide to show them how to add whichever input and output components that they choose.

Students can follow the guide to create a PCB layout and to create a flow chart to program their microcontroller.

I have found this to be a very effective tool within my classroom and it encourages differentiation and independent learning.

I hope you find the guide as useful as my students do.
