Then they will examine a series of historical sources and apply their new knowledge to work out which deity is depicted in each source.</p>

<p>The final task, could be done as a CLASS/GROUP TASK. Students research one Egyptian god or goddess, which they can choose from a list on the second last page. They then complete the last page with the name of the god/goddess, a picture or drawing of this god/goddess, and three facts about this god or goddess. They share it with the class and can then create a part of the Egyptian pantheon on the class wall.</p>

Lesson plan and accompanying materials which asks the children to use the internet to research Ancient Egyptian gods and present the information in a PowerPoint presentation.
These activities may accompany the reading of the book MUMMIES IN THE MORNING, or may also be used independently . They cover reading, writing and art. After the children create a phrase using hieroglyphs, you can prepare clay tablets in advance for them to carve with a paper clip. They can decorate it with acrylic paints and hang on a wall.
