This is a ‘How to…’ guide for History and Geography teachers to creating a guided thematic data set. This one is set on a History data set and explains the types of evidence you could include for your students to analyze. The aim is for them to critically unpack the evidence and evaluate how that piece tells them about that particular event. Included is a student worksheet in both Word and PDF that you can adapt for your students to note the strengths and limitations of the sources presented. Once students are familiar with how a guided data set works, they should be able to create their own.
