Job overview

We are looking for a positive, proactive and forward-thinking individual to oversee and coordinate our Administration Team, ensuring the smooth running of the school by anticipating needs and addressing challenges effectively.

You will join a welcoming team, including a Student Services Officer, Receptionist, Administrative Assistant and Resources Technician, which you will lead to create an atmosphere of belonging and ensure effective and efficient operations and communication.

In this role, you will work 36 hours per week for 40 weeks per year. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 3.45 pm and Friday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm.

About us

Esher High School is an excellent, high-performing School and is proud to be part of Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT). We aim to equip our students with the skills to grow into confident, ambitious and responsible citizens ready to face the challenges of the adult world. Our staff are passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject.

Why work for us?

We work hard to make all staff feel like they belong and can flourish. We create a bespoke induction plan for all new staff, shaped with their input and based on their experience, strengths and aims. All teachers get an additional hour every fortnight of protected PPA, totalling 6 hours for a full-time teacher. We have a culture of 1% improvements, which means no hour-long lesson observations and time wasted producing unnecessary paperwork. All staff love our two-week October half-term and have access to free gym use (with shower facilities), ample on-site parking, an up-to-date 2-in-1 laptop (tablet with pen and laptop all in one), a full Microsoft Office package and a vibrant and social staff body.

If you share our vision based on the unshakeable belief that children learn through all aspects of their daily lives and that their values and knowledge, experiences and habits are as important as their academic qualifications, we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you would like an informal phone call or a visit to the school with the Headteacher, we welcome and value this. To arrange, please contact head@esherhigh.surrey.sch.uk.

Visits will be possible on 22 and 29 August or in the first week of September on the return to school.

For further details on how to apply, please refer to the attached Recruitment Pack.

Closing date: 8.00 am on Monday 9 September 2024.

Interviews will be held within two weeks of the closing date.

We welcome early applications and will consider holding interviews and appointing before the closing date for strong candidates.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. It is an offence to apply for a role if applicants are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Please click here for further information regarding our Child Protection & Safeguarding policy. There will be a requirement to undertake an enhanced disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

At Esher Church of England High School, our aim is to ensure that each student leaves with excellent qualifications, rich experiences and a growth mindset that will equip them to take their place as responsible and successful citizens in the wider world. Promoting excellence in all aspects of school life and fostering spiritual, cultural and moral awareness within a Christian ethos, we aim to encourage all of our students to develop as independent and co-operative learners.  Through developing students’ personal and social skills, we hope to prepare them as self-confident and highly motivated people who go on to succeed in whatever field they choose.

Our values are rooted in those of the Church of England’s for all church schools, but interpreted for our own unique setting and students.

These are:

  • Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills
  • Educating for hope and aspiration
  • Educating for community and living well together
  • Educating for dignity and respect

As a Church of England School, our relationship with the Diocese of Guildford is essential. Not only does it help support our moral purpose, but it’s family of schools gives us a significant network from which we can grow leaders, encourage new members to the profession, and build on the strengths of individuals and teams within our community.

Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT) was formed as a Multi Academy Trust following the conversion of Esher Church of England High School to an academy in 2014. As a Trust, ELT aims to develop a vibrant partnership of non-selective primary and secondary schools, all united in one goal to provide the best possible learning experience and environment not only for our current children but also for the next generation of pupils.
