Job overview

Part-time – 30 hours per week

Longdean School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our SEND team.

We are looking for applicants who put the experience of the child at the heart of their practice, someone eager to extend children’s learning and make it fun. You may be working with groups of students or individuals to support them in reaching their targets on learning plans and EHCPs. You will be a team player who will join an established team of Teaching Assistants.

The successful candidate will set themselves high personal standards and be keen to develop professionally to support the school’s aspirational approach to learning.

A professional dress code is expected.

If you have a ‘can-do’ attitude and can offer the team excellent communication skills, show intuition within a range of everyday tasks and activities and want to support the needs of the pupils with flair, this could be the role for you.

If you are interested in joining us at this exciting time, further details and an application pack are available from HR@scholarseducationtrust.co.uk or on 01727 734424. CVs will not be accepted.

To apply, please follow the Quick Apply button and complete the online application form. Applications should be returned by email to hr@scholarseducationtrust.co.uk.

Closing date: 17 September 2024.

Interview date: TBC.

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

The Trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed, you will be required to have an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. The existence of a criminal background does not automatically mean that you cannot be appointed, but it may do so.

Scholars’ Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
