A half term unit of work to introduce Year 5 class to computer aided design, using the free website TinkerCAD.
Includes a booklet (that can be printed) for pupils. Because of limited laptops, there are complementary paper and pencil design tasks to use at the same time in carousel. The unit could easily be done without these if you have access to a full set of laptops or computer suite.

Linked to a Year 6 trip to the Isle of Wight, so hence these references. A unit of work that is for a half term. I was actually teaching in 2hr blocks each week, which was quite challenging. For choice i think most lessons would be better over an hour or 90 minutes. There is a unit overview plus various PowerPoints and some other resources. The unit covered sketching and watercolours, before going onto acrylics and at the end castle collages. Quite a bit of history of art woven in too, e.g. Turner

Biography - Space exploration themed unit

A 3-week English unit of work for teaching about biography writing. It loosely follows the Talk4Writing approach, initially looking at a model text (a biography of Katherine Johnson). It then gets children to do their own research on people of significance for space understanding or exploration. They create and deliver presentations, before finally writing biographies. The grammar foci is on using parenthesis and also on linking introductions and conclusions with a rhetorical question ‘hook’

A set of 5 lessons for pupils to attempt at home, introducing Buddhism and going through some basics (Word document instructions).

There are accompanying documents, e.g. info powerpoints. If you have a twinkl login you will find many more worksheets and ppts that accompany these topics, but I am not sharing here for copyright reasons. Not a perfect unit but possibly some helpful start points. I gave the children related art challenges at the same time which I will also include. (I am mainly putting all these docs onto TES as an easy way to transfer to my laptop at home!)
