A ‘work-as-a-team’ escape room based on Haydn and his symphonies.
Students have 45 clues to solve - some of which are pictures - to solve a puzzle that directs them to the ‘key’ to let them out of the room!
The game should take under an hour - my average is 45 minutes - and it’s suitable for Year 12 AND Year 13, although the 12s might need a bit more help/research time. Some clues refer to Haydn and his life, some to his symphonies and some to terms such as ‘terraced dynamics’.
If you have a large class you could play the game in two different rooms with students competing against each other to be the fastest.
A piano is required in the room to hide the key, but you could adapt the instructions to say otherwise.
This has been tried and tested for several years now (in at least two schools), but do let me know if you have any feedback to improve it. An answer sheet is included!
