I am starting Child Development in year 9 for a 3 year course. It is an introduction year which will not contain any official btec documentation. Having taught Child Development for a year, there are certain areas which would benefit from more time. These lessons are half term 1- 16 lessons on:
- Where children can attend for child care provisions
- Professionals who work with 0-5 year olds including: midwives, health visitors, childcare provisions and early years settings.
- Routines in childcare settings
- Development milestones
- Age brackets studies on the course
- Introduction to PIES in child development
- Growth and development- the difference.
- Impacts on growth and development
The lessons are split into 4 part- connect, activate, demonstrate and consolidate. They include a big question and success criteria. There is some use of text book (pearson) and some links to command words.
