Imperfect tense basic sentence practice

Write an original sentence in the imperfect for each subject. Use a different infinitive from the list below or come up with your own. Add 3-4 words to expand on your sentence. Note: All verbs must be conjugated, and sentences should not be repetitive (using the same words over and over). Your sentences must make sense. *No collaboration, translators, or unauthorized resources.

*Students will write 12 sentences total

  • A table with list of infinitives and English translations, Imperfect tense endings of -ar, -er, -ir verbs, and conjugations of Ser, Ir, Ver is provided for reference.

Example:

Template: Clue word + Subject + Conjugated verb + Add 3-4 words

  1. Cuando era niño + Yo + _____________ + ____________________

This practice can be used for classwork, homework, entry / exit slip, or sub plans. It can be used when students are first introduced to the imperfect tense.
