This lesson is the fourth of five lessons on logic. Though designed as a sequence, each lesson can be taught without the others. The scheme of work was designed for a particularly gifted year 8 set however, would definitely be suitable for older age groups.
This lesson introduces students to the concept of logical thinking, in particular the recognition and use of modal operators. By the end of the lesson students should be able to express complex statements using modal operators.

Philosophy for Children (Logic and Ethics)
This Bundle includes two different lessons sequences, one on Logic and one on Ethic, and easily includes enough content to take up a term of lessons at one hour a week. Once the students have completed the sequences, they should have a sophisticated understanding of the different ethical theories included, and a strong working knowledge of logical argument. The lessons were designed for a very gifted KS3 set however, I've also used them for KS4 RE Core lessons.
Introduction to Logic
This sequence of five lessons is designed to introduce logical thinking to students. The sequence of work was designed for a particularly gifted year 8 set however, would definitely be suitable for older age groups. By the end of the sequence students should be able to create valid arguments, both in Modus Ponens and Modus Tollens forms, convert complext statements into modal and propositional logic, and recognise common logical fallacies.
