Sometimes at the end of a lesson it’s nice for students to show their knowledge/learning in a way that does not involve you marking or students writing. I also find that for some students, written knowledge checkers can place them under unnecessary pressure, especially when you have just introduced a topic.
These matching cards are fun for students and can be used as a challenge task, a group activity, a starter or a plenary. I like printing and laminating various copies and placing students in groups. We have competitions to see which group can finish first.
