A great resource to test student understanding of the Cold War.
A set of 34 pictures/images of the Cold War
This resource can be used in a variety of ways:
-
Individually or in pairs, students explain the picture/image in the context of Cold War (research time can be given)
. Get the students to group together based on certain criteria:
. Topic e.g. Germany, Cuba, Arms Race
. Dates e.g. 1950s, 1960s -
Students in pairs or small groups and explain how their picture/image connects with the other pictures
-
Lay the pictures out around the classroom and ask the students to go round and contribute one piece of information on as many pictures as they can.
-
This can also be done in small groups, each student with a different colour pen adds information (see who contributes what!)
