This resource relates to the AQA specification for GCSE (UK) exams from 2018 onwards. The lesson is part of the ‘Economic futures in the UK module’. This 1-2 HOUR resource starts by investigating the UK’s links to the rest of the world. Pupils undertake a map analysis task, to show how electronic communications are distributed globally. A skills based task is also used to show changes to UK migration over time. Pupils then use cards to highlight the benefits and problems of EU membership. A debate style exercise is used to allow students to express their own ideas. The importance of the Commonwealth is also considered.
