Five great activities that would span eleven lessons on the new president and vice president of the United States, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6 learning about famous American figures, U.S. History or for Black History Month.
NO PREP is needed!
Firstly, there are two reading comprehension activities where children need to read through informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing extension activities.
Secondly, there are two biography writing units. The units have been split into four separate lessons each, which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes. Ideal for students learning about former World Leaders or U.S. History.
Finally, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to all of the U.S Presidents throughout history. Great for class work, distance learning and home schooling. There are 46 posters or cards of all of the U.S Presidents, starting with the very first, George Washington, up until present day president, Joe Biden. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant resource for looking into U.S. History. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.
