Learner investigation lesson on area of similar shapes leading to volume of similar shapes. Task booklet provides skill checks at the beginning and end of the lesson. Lesson introduces linear scale factor and then moves to investigate the connection between linear scale factor and area scale factor. This lesson used Plickers cards for quick fire questioning however this could be done using whiteboards or response cards. Welsh is used throughout the PPT and Task booklet. All instructions and explanation is given in English. Task booklets can be collected in to assess learners understanding.

Suitable for KS3 and KS4 (Possible to split into two lessons, one for hypotenuse and one for shorter sides). Allows Students to discover the Pythagoras' Theorem by investigating the length of the sides of triangle on the discovery sheet. This is reinforced in the Question Booklet and then applied to a Contextualised question and GCSE style questions toward the end of the lesson.
