A complete unit of work, with 17 PowerPoint lessons and accompanying resources to work through the play from the beginning to the end, developing relevant skills (AO1, AO2, AO3 and AO4). Includes opportunities for peer/self reflection using green pen (you may wish to change this if your school has a different colour/policy for independent reflection). Aimed at middle-higher ability but can be adapted. Lessons are designed to be one hour each but many can be stretched to allow for more detailed exploration of ideas where relevant. Useful for any study of An Inspector Calls but created with the new AQA specification (8702, Paper 2) in mind. Note: there are a range of original resources within the package, but two of these are freely available on TES (dominoes task and tension ordering in lessons 1 and 6). I am absolutely not claiming these as my own but including them within the scheme as they are incorporated in the two of the lesson plan PowerPoints I've created :)

A comprehensive collection of 23 sample exam tasks on 'A Christmas Carol' by Dickens, in the style of the new specification (8702) AQA English Lit Paper 1 GCSE exam. As with the official sample materials, each task includes brief details about where the extract is from, the extract itself with line numbers, and a question, followed by prompts to refer to the presentation of character/theme/idea/setting in the extract and the novel as a whole. The tasks are ordered in the same sequence as the extracts appear in the novel, so this would also be useful for recapping the story through key extracts.

A pack of six sample GCSE English Literature Paper 1, Section A assessments on Macbeth, in the style of the AQA paper. Each text gives key information on the extract, the extract itself (with line numbers), and a task relating to the presentation of a character/theme and the relevant bullet points instructing students to respond to the extract and whole play. I have now uploaded a second set of A-Level Othello exam questions - see my other resources for Pack 2. This pack is a set of 14 assessment tasks, following the same structure as the AQA A Level Paper 1 (Love Through the Ages), Section A, Q1 sample materials, all on Othello. This is for the new specification (7712). The assessments focus on the presentation of varying types of love across a range of key scenes in the play. This makes them useful as practice exam material, and/or for recapping key scenes in the play. Each task has a question based on the presentation of [aspect of love] in response to a statement, followed by an extract.

A booklet which has a double page on each of the Power and Conflict poems, each with important questions related to the AOs (AO1 ideas, themes, links, evidence; AO2 language, structure and form methods and effects; AO3 context). Also includes subject terminology and encourages students to think more deeply at the poems. This resource could be worked through in class or given to students for directed independent work / revision. It also includes useful links and QR codes.

A template to test the students’ knowledge of each of the poems from the ‘Power and Conflict’ poems in AQA. Meant as a revision resource so both the student and teacher can see what they remember and need to revise. Also included are answers to the poems in the powerpoint.

Would probably last longer if required. This focuses on the first 'Alice in Wonderland' book by Lewis Carroll. Mainly focused on writing skills. Covers all of the book apart from Chapter 9 and 10. Activities include challenge tasks to extend students' thinking skills. All resources needed are included and all powerpoint slides come decorated and ready to use. All include learning objective and success criteria. No paper SoW as tasks are self-explanatory. Thank you for looking!

14 lessons which cover SPAG in detail. All lessons are linked to the bands of the new AQA spec to stress the importance of good SPAG and the fact it will impact their grades. The booklet means they can work through the activities and have everything all in one place - it looks really good in colour too! Is aimed at year 10/11 but can easily be used for year 7 upwards.

14/15 lesson SoW. Covers different contextual influences e.g. Elizabethan times/Shakespeare/witches. Looks at 'All the World's a Stage', and also focuses on extracts from various Shakespeare plays but mainly 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Macbeth'. Lesson 2 - Timings refer to the film 'Anonymous'.
