This remote learning bundle has five online activities that would span eleven lessons about the new president and vice president of the United States, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The resources are perfect for Distance Learning in Year 5 or Year 6, and are ideal for students learning about U.S. History.
Firstly, there is a Joe Biden Reading Comprehension Activity & a Kamala Harris Reading Comprehension Activity. These informational texts come with comprehension and grammar questions followed by extension tasks. These resources are Google Forms activities and are ideal for distance learning.
Secondly, there is a Joe Biden Biography Writing Unit & a Kamala Harris Biography Writing Unit. These units have been split into four separate lessons each, which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes. The Google Slides activities are ideal for distance learning. The first lessons are interactive and involve students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lessons the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. Then, in the third lessons they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusions. In the final lessons your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the templates provided.
Finally, there is a great digital research and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to all of the Presidents of the United States throughout history, from the very first - George Washington, to the present president, Joe Biden. Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. There are 46 posters or task cards featuring all of the U.S. Presidents. The research and sorting activity is differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline.

Four individual Escape Room activities about the following four key civilizatons from ancient history:

Ideal for Year 5 or Year 6, the activities are perfect for group work, starting a new ancient history topic, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies.
Each activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.
In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.
