Two reading comprehension activity books that timeline the American Civil War and look at key figures from the time period. In total there are thirteen reading passages; each activity has an informational text with comprehension and grammar questions, followed by an extension task, crossword puzzle and wordsearch activity.
The NO PREP reading comprehension worksheets are perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6. Students will learn about key facts about the Civil War whilst developing their comprehension skills.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson they need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. In the third lesson students need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work into a neat copy on the template provided.
