This is an eight-page booklet suitable for all staff working in school settings (primary and secondary). There is a brief introduction to what is meant by speech, language and communication needs followed by how to identify students and plenty of classroom strategies which can support these students in mainstream schools. The strategies are all quick and easy to implement as part of quality first teaching and relevant for KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 teachers, teaching assistants and other school staff. Can be printed and distributed among staff for whole-school CPD. The author is a senior advisory teacher for speech, language and communication needs.
