This is a fully differentiated booklet looking some of the key aspects of A Christmas Carol. The booklet explores several important themes of the story and also includes a creative writing task that guides students to producing their own piece of writing. This is a fully differentiated lessons looking at the character of Sherlock Holmes in the story The Speckled Band. The lesson introduces learners to the key concept of making inferences and how this can be applied to studying English. The lesson has many opportunities for AFL and helps to develop skills when responding to language questions. The PowerPoint includes a student example that works well to help learners to make a response to an exam-style question.
