This is a fully differentiated lesson looking at the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. The lesson looks at the contextual relevance of names and reputation and also helps learners to analyse key scenes in the play.
This lesson can be taught either remotely or face-to-face and has been tried and tested with my own groups.

This is a thirteen paged, fully differentiated booklet going over some of the key questions of the paper 1 exam. The booklet has been put together to help students gain an in-depth understanding of both language and structure and how to approach each exam question. All of my booklets have been tried and tested and work well with whole classes and on a one-to-one basis.
This lesson looks at helping students to vocalize their views in terms of the impact adults play on their lives as they grow up. It will help them to build up skills in terms of expressing their opinions in a clear and logical manner.
This lessons helps students to read critically and to develop the skills they will need in order to progress within the subject of English.
The lesson provides students with an introduction to the writer Allen Edger Poe and one of his most important pieces of writing, A Tell-Tale-Heart. The lesson begins with a fact-finding task, then progress to looking at the text and the Gothic conventions that are presented.

This is a fully differentiated lesson created for the new specification for functional skills level one and two. The lesson helps students to broaden their vocabulary and understand the importance of synonyms.
This is a fully differentiated lesson that helps stretch and challenge students in an engaging way. The lesson focuses on understanding the importance of understanding the importance of language in poetry. Additionally it has been used with many of my groups and has helped my students feel confident when faced with a poetry question.
This is a fully differentiated booklet looking some of the key aspects of A Christmas Carol. The booklet explores several important themes of the story and also includes a creative writing task that guides students to producing their own piece of writing. All of my resources are tried and tested and have helped me with whole classes and also to provide tuition and individual support.
This is a fully differentiated lesson for learners of both functional skills and GCSE English. The lesson helps learners to understand the differences between implicit and explicit information which is a key skill required for their GCSE’s.

This is a fully differentiated lesson looking at a key scene on Macbeth. The lesson covers many aspects of context that will affect the interpretation of Lady Macbeth’s soliloquy. The lesson goes on to help students annotate and understand the scene as well as opportunities for AFL and an exam-style question.
This is a fully differentiated 22-slide lesson looking at the poem Poppies from the AQA Power and Conflict anthology. The lesson looks at drawing together an understanding of how conflict is presented in the cluster as a whole. In addition, it helps students to gain a good understanding of Poppies and starts to get them to compare this to another poem and producing an exam-style response.

This recourse has opportunities for both individual and team games and also helps to develop key English skills such as making inferences and speaking and listening.

Due to the restrictions put in place by Covid, the lesson can be taught without the need for additional printing or resources, making it ideal for either face-to-face or on-line teaching.
