A worksheet on Maître Gims's new song 'Cameleon' from December 2017. Filling in the blanks in lyrics, matching up new vocab, and some short 'find the vocab' activities. You could also spend some time at the start of the lesson discussing French music, Maitre Gims, Black M and Sexion d'Assaut to see if any students have discovered their music before.

A challenging microlistening task based on the song fête de trop by Eddy de Pretto. This can be used AFTER students have had plenty of practice differentiating between the different vowel sounds in French, including the nasal sounds. A good way to practise (and also assess) the students’ understanding of these sounds. Answers included.

This is a reading aloud task can be played just after pupils have been made aware of the pronunciation differences between masculine and feminine adjective endings. A 3-page worksheet to introduce the use of the pronoun ‘en’ in different set phrases for talking about food. Very little prior knowledge is assumed other than some basic opinions on food items, and some time phrases like souvent and jamais, so this lesson should appear in a sequence after pupils have acquired those. It is practised mainly in the present tense, but extension tasks are provided in other tenses, Activities include a match-up, grammar explanation, teacher-led listening, translation into English, sentence unjumbling task and a short, guided sentence-writing task. Ideal for helping pupils to integrate these into their writing to score higher marks for complexity / use of ‘complex structures’.
