Help sheets created for students to help with assignments. I took students on a visit for assignment A and D to Whitworths food analysis lab and to Northampton General Hospital pathology lab. Edit assignments A and D for where you have taken the students on a visit.
Help sheets created for students to help with assignments. Students find the bullet point list/checklist idea helpful when creating a report and can follow it better than assignment briefs.
A handy revision broadsheet that can be used with mixed ability classes as it caters for higher and foundation students.
It is made for the AQA exam board however it would also suit OCR and Edexcel.
A set of lessons used to teach the unit 3 content for the exam about the diffusion practical. These have been taught in 2 hour sessions so may need breaking up if you have shorter lessons.
Lesson 1 + 2 = Practical introduction (method evaluation focus)
Lesson 3 + 4 = Practical Part A (practice with agar)
Lesson 5 + 6 = Part B practice
Lesson 7+ 8 = Part A + B in new format practice
These lessons have been taught in double lessons (2 hours) so may need splitting up for shorter lessons.
Lesson 1+2: Intro to unit 3, examples of part A and B to introduce, introduction of the 5 key practicals, start of electricity, symbols, and a chance to make circuits.
Lesson 3 + 4: Part B possible analysis questions, introduction to all the equations that could come up, a practice of Part A Jan 2019 (not included as still locked on edexcel online).
Lesson 5 + 6: Part B possible graph questions, variables, errors (%) and evaluation, a practice of section 1 of Part B Jan 2019 (not included as still locked on edexcel online).
Lesson 7 + 8: Part B possible section 2 questions, planning a method, a practice of section 2 of Part B Jan 2020 (not included as still locked on edecxcel online)
Prior knowledge and common misconception sheets for each of the units for GCSE AQA Chemistry. Units have been changed slightly, split up etc to aid in teaching, I have uploaded the specification sheets in my shop (free) to show what is taught in each unit.
A worksheet based on how maths teach maths concepts. Built on low demand questions just using the equation and then building in units, conversions, rearranging the equation and then gcse exam questions. Can be used for any exam board as it is common content (AQA, OCR, Edexcel). Newtons second law of motion or F=m x a
Set of lessons that have covered the unit 8 digestive system assignment C. This was taught over double lessons (2hrs) with access to IT for lesson 2 so might need splitting up if you teach in single lessons.
Lesson 1: Digestive system function and parts
Lesson 2: Enzymes and what they break down
Lesson 3: Absorption of nutrients and methods of absorption
Lesson 4: Nutrient uses and deficiencies
Lesson 5 (only 1 hour): Diseases that affect the digestive system and lead to deficiencies
Lesson 6: Food tests
Also included:
Help sheet given to students with bullet pointed structure for assignment completion.
Help sheets to allow students to complete assignments with a bit more support. This unit is very individual but should allow all students to achieve distinction.
Broadsheet made for the AQA scheme but will work for OCR. Revision broadsheet that covers: Acids, bases, strong/weak acids, ions, neutralisation, equations, soluble salts, insoluble salts.
Can be used for KS3 or KS4 - really helped students understand moving the reactants and products on the axis. The cardsort needs to be cut out (I laminated a set of 15 that can be used again and again).
A broadsheet that is useful for revision of the homeostasis unit. This doesn’t include human reproductive hormones as I teach this when I do reproduction and contraception.
Glossary match-up activities and answers for students to complete for each unit. Units have been slightly changed, split up etc. I have uploaded in my shop (free) the specification of the altered units along with prior knowledge and common misconception checks.
A resource that can be used from KS3 to KS4 to help with balancing equations. Scaffolded so that students work from low to high demand. Students often struggle with using symbols however find balancing legos/skittles/beads easy. A worksheet that steps up the demand from low to medium then to high. Can be used for all exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, iGCSE) as is common content and would suit combined or separate sciences.
A unit of lessons and worksheets that have been used to cover all the foundation topics in the AQA trilogy quantitiative chemistry unit. I have taught these lessons with a bottom set who are very weak, so lots of going over concepts and revisiting and practice.
Also taught to top set triple and the extra lessons are tacked on the end
Lessons:
Relative formula mass
Balancing equations (this spanned 2 hours)
Conservation of mass
Uncertainty
RFM recap
Concentration
Moles
% yield
atom economy
