Eduqas English Language Paper 1 Section A lesson that explores the use of language in an extract to convey how unreliable memory can be, but also looks at non-linear narrative structures to help get across not only the idea of memory but also build up a sense of suspense for the reader. A really useful lesson for students preparing for Eduqas English Language Paper 1 but easily adaptable for other exam boards like AQA, OCR, Edexcel and more.

Descriptive writing lesson for Eduqas! A lesson for Section B of the Eduqas English Language Paper 1, where students focus on improving their descriptive writing through differentiated activities and success criteria. The lesson enables students to reflect on their uses of language techniques, as well as considering what kind of structure to give to their writing. Additionally, it helps them to use zooming in as a way of effectively planning a piece of descriptive writing for Section B Creative Prose Writing.

Students consider how the former President links the past to the present and creates a link between time and hope. A really detailed lesson that includes differentiated activities throughout and supports students to reflect on structure and create their own short speeches using crafted links between themes in order to affect an audience. Very useful for EduqasEnglish Language GCSE Component 2 Section B.
Macbeth talks to his wife about murdering Banquo and then discovers Fleance is still alive. A fully differentiated and resourced lesson that focuses on Macbeth’s plans for murdering Banquo and looks at his reaction to the news that although Banquo is dead, Fleance has escaped. The lesson helps students prepare analytical paragraphs in preparation for Eduqas English Literature Paper 1 but is also easily usable for KS3 classes as well.

Macbeth and the end - a fully differentiated and resourced lesson that looks at the final few scenes of the play, where Macbeth discovers the death of his wife, reflects philosophically on life itself, and comes to terms with the witches lying and ‘trolling’ him.
