GCSE Religious Studies - Marriage and Relationships -Christian Weddings - The Marriage Game

(0)
Lesson focuses on playing the Marriage Game - full instructions are included. Only extras needed are dice and counters! Though the activity has been designed as a game, it helps students focus on the meaning of the vows taken during a Christian wedding service and also outlines some of the various financial considerations that are taken when preparing for a wedding. Resources include presentation, lesson objectives, starter and plenary, game board and worksheets plus homework. The preparation for the game takes about 30 - 40 minutes, playing the game about 30- 40 minutes, follow-up work and discussion - 20 minutes or so. In total, at least 2 lessons worth of material. I use this game as an introductory lesson to GCSE Religious Studies - Relationships and Christian weddings, but also suitable for Year 8/9 students. Laminate game and cards to use year after year!

‘Joseph’s story!’ was written for lower secondary school students. ‘Joseph’s story!’ is a light-hearted comedy based on modern times with most of the scenes taking part in a modern supermarket, ideal for secondary school drama students at the end of term or a longer style assembly! It is about 12 - 15 minutes long in total, with 6 - 8 speaking parts (though these parts can doubled up or divided in further characters as necessary).
