Many slides in the original PowerPoint version feature answers that appear when you click, for students to respond. An additional PDF version is included. While the PDF version does not retain the ability for teachers to reveal answers by clicking, it will still help you introduce and review this topic if you do not have PowerPoint where you work. Please note that the interactive Reveal the Picture game is not compatible with PDF and is therefore omitted from that version. Also within the Zip file is a PDF of flashcards, with two on each page. All leisure activities covered in the presentation feature in 4 versions - infinitive and first person versions (‘aller au parc’ / ‘Je vais au parc’), both with and without backgrounds. VOCABULARY SUPPORT PAGES 7 vocabulary support sheets in different versions to display or print, depending on whether your students require them. Includes key phrases, questions, how to say likes and dislikes, how often etc. Please note these support sheets are included in both the worksheets packet and the games packet. WORKSHEETS AND CROSSWORD PUZZLE 6 worksheets (with answer keys). Worksheet 1-3 come in one-and two-star versions, with one-star being for lower ability, younger, or less experienced students. Worksheets 4 and 5 are basic comprehension worksheets, with 5 being a little more challenging. They feature different texts and could be used for differentiation or to provide progression for the same students if required. Worksheet 6 is a differentiated crossword puzzle where the clues involve students filling in the blanks in French hobbies phrases beginning with ‘J’aime…’. The one-star version contains a word bank for support. You can print or display the answer key for student self-checking if required. ACTIVE ORAL CARD GAME This is a game to get students out of their seats, having short conversations about recreational activities. There are 36 game cards (2 of each design). Students are given a card each and must move around the room, trying to find the player with the matching card. To find this, one player asks “Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire pendant ton temps libre?”. The other replies with the information on their card (e.g. “J’aime cuisiner et jouer du piano.”). The second player can then ask the same question or use “Et toi?” (“And you?”) before the first player replies with the two activities on their card. If their information matches, they could say “Moi aussi!” (“Me too!”). Students who find their match could sit down to make it easier for remaining players to find their match. Versions included with French and English prompts. SERPENTS ET ECHELLES 3 different game boards (2 standard boards for practice of hobbies phrases and one for saying how often we do activities). Print and laminate the ones you require. Works well in A3 (11 x 17) for larger groups but A4 (Letter) is good too. FOUR IN A ROW GAMES 2 different game boards. Print and laminate. First to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - wins. Students roll dice, then choose an activity word from that number column and say it in French. If correct, use a dry-wipe marker to put a symbol or initial in that box (opponents could use a different colour dry-wipe marker), and so on. BINGO / TIC TAC TOE CARDS Use these 16 different cards for a group game of Bingo in pairs (the teacher or a student could read out French hobby words) or Tic Tac Toe / Noughts and Crosses, with students taking it in turns to say aloud a French hobby word from their card. If cards are laminated, students could write on them with a dry-wipe marker. Thank you for your interest in my resources. Mental Maths Activities KS2

6 Resources
Great for starters and early finishers, this Mental Maths / Arithmetic Upper Key Stage 2 Big Bundle contains 3 resource packs (Year 5 / 6) and 3 Lower KS2 resource packs (Year 4 / 3), great for differentiation in the same class. A total of 30 PowerPoint Speed Tests, 432 Self-Check Cards and 16 Cross Number Puzzles for regular practice throughout the year. The Lower Key Stage 2 resources were originally designed for Y4 (Primary 5 and other equivalents) but would also suit some Y3 (Primary 4) classes too once the concepts have been covered. They could also be used for lower ability students in Upper KS2. The Upper Key Stage 2 resources were originally designed for Y5 and Y6 (Primary 6 and 7 and other equivalents). They could be used as part of SATs preparation. They would also suit some early KS3 classes for consolidation and revision. Concepts include: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Doubling & Halving, Fractions, Percentages, Decimals, Negative Numbers, Place Value, Money, Measure, Time and Angles. As the PowerPoints and Self-Check cards include money questions in UK currency, I have also included versions for countries that use dollars and cents. Differentiation: I have called the Lower KS2 resources Set B, while the Upper is Set A, rather than using any other identifier to help facilitate the use of both sets within the same class without the children being aware of the age level of the questions. All these Mental Numeracy resources are available individually or in smaller Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 bundles: Mental Maths Bundle Year 5 Year 6 Mental Maths Bundle Year 4 / Year 3 The information below applies to both the Lower and Upper KS2 resources, so there’s double what it says: POWERPOINT SPEED TESTS 15 informal tests split across 3 PowerPoints, designed to be shown on the whiteboard with children recording answers in jotters or on paper. One question to a slide will allow children to focus for a few seconds before the next one comes up. The question slides are plain and uncluttered so as to minimise distractions. Run the PowerPoint presentation on a timer or click it on yourself, perhaps allowing a little longer for more challenging questions. Each test features 20 questions involving a variety of mathematical skills and knowledge. At the end of each test, the same 20 slides are repeated, this time with the answer added clearly. Children can then mark their own or a partner’s work to reduce your workload. If short of time, you can whizz through the answers but the idea of each answer appearing with its question like this is that it allows for important discussions about strategies. SELF-CHECK CARDS A flexible resource that can be incorporated into many mental maths games and activities within the classroom, especially oral starters. Laminate and use again and again as starter and early finisher tasks. There are twelve calculations on each A4 sheet. Leave them as 18 A4 sheets or cut each of the question cards separately to create 216 cards. There are versions both with and without the answers printed below the questions. The with-answers versions could be used by pupils questioning each other while the version without the answers could be used by individuals testing themselves. A separate answer card is included, which individuals could consult. CROSSNUMBER PUZZLES A fun resource for early finisher tasks, mental starters, homework etc. They could be completed by individuals or in pairs or small groups, where they will promote important discussions about different mental strategies. As in a crossword puzzle, children will find it easier to work out some of the more challenging questions once they have filled in the easier ones as some digits will already be there for them. ANSWER GRIDS for all 8 puzzles are included within the file and could be printed for pupils to self-check (or displayed later on the board), cutting down on your marking! I hope these save you time and provide great practice to help boost your students’ mental maths agility. I would be grateful for a review if you get a spare moment. Many thanks. January Non-Fiction Reading Comprehensions BUNDLE

6 Resources
6 upper Primary (Upper KS2 - Years 5 and 6 and equivalents) or early Secondary (KS3 - Year 7 and equivalents), reading comprehensions with informational texts, other close reading tasks, grammar, punctuation, and writing activities, plus fun puzzles, perfect for January and the New Year. This BUNDLE includes differentiated packs on New Year’s Resolutions, Epiphany or Three Kings Day, MLK Day / Martin Luther King Day, World Braille Day / Louis Braille, Robert Burns / Burns Night, and Chinese New Year.   Contains over 120 pages, including 6 nonfiction reading comprehensions (all at 2 levels of difficulty), 6 cloze procedure tasks using the same texts (all at 2 levels) and each of the six packs has at least 2 additional tasks linked to each pack, some of which are also differentiated. Also contains all answer keys.   These packs provide Literacy or English activities based around short non-fiction texts with a link to the month. Each pack contains 4 or 5 printable activities in non-editable PDF format. Please check the previews to assess suitability for your students. In addition to the UK versions, US spelling and grammar versions are also included where relevant, meaning they can be used in most English-speaking countries. The majority of tasks are provided at two levels of challenge, therefore they will suit a range of year groups and provide appropriate levels of challenge for different abilities within many classes.   This BUNDLE provides a big discount so that you can pick and choose which texts and activities you wish to use and still make a saving. You’ll be able to use them again and again, starting each new year with plenty of relevant and meaningful Literacy and English tasks. The 6 packs are also available separately if you prefer:   New Year’s Resolutions Louis Braille / World Braille Day (January 4) Epiphany / Three Kings Day (January 6) Martin Luther King / MLK Day (January 15 in 2024) [Robert Burns / Burns Night](https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-11811174 (January 25) Chinese New Year (included in the January BUNDLE as it varies each year from January 21 to February 20 - in 2024, it is February 10)   I am designing these non-fiction comprehension and activities packs to provide a time-saving bank of flexible themed tasks linked to dates throughout the year, though of course you can use them whenever you want. They feature specially written very short texts (about 250 - 300 words). Each provides comprehension questions, a cloze procedure task and other linked tasks. The other tasks are on aspects of spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, grammar, writing or reading (this varies across the different packs). Build all activities into your Literacy or English programme, or use for cover lessons, homework, early finisher tasks or for those busy times when you need something low-prep, meaningful, relevant and engaging at the last minute!   Please click on the links to see the individual resources in this bundle, to assess suitability for your students. You will find detailed information and previews for all of them. Many thanks.   YOU MIGHT LIKE… Winter Creative Writing Story Prompts Creative Writing Story Prompts Complex Sentences Activity Cards Editing SPaG Puzzles Worksheets Full Stops and Capital Letters Cards Improving Sentences Writing Worksheets

French Telling the Time Quelle heure est-il? BUNDLE

3 Resources
French Time resources for Upper Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 (KS2 / KS3). Plan a unit of lessons on Telling the Time in French (L’heure) / Clocks in French (Les Horloges) with this big bundle of reading, writing, speaking and listening activities: vocabulary support pages, differentiated worksheets and puzzles, a detailed lesson presentation, interactive games, flashcards, printable games and activities. Includes 12 AND 24 hour time separately, analogue and digital clocks, in quarter hour and 5 minute intervals. Also includes questions and sentences, linked to sporting activities, opening hours and aspects of daily routine. These French basics resources are made for students beginning French and near beginners in Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 and equivalents but they may suit others, depending on experience. Please check the previews to see a large sample of the resources. All resources are in PDF, apart from the presentation, which is in PowerPoint / PPT (but also included in PDF). Over 160 pages and 110 slides.   The 3 included resource packs are also available separately.   FRENCH TELLING THE TIME PRESENTATIONS AND INTERACTIVE GAMES:   In addition to introducing key vocabulary and phrases, this presentation includes activities such as: Practice slides with digital and analogue clocks Oral activities using time in context 6 rounds of an interactive Hexagons Game (where teams compete to translate vocab and phrases and make a path through the grid) - includes two rounds where time is to the nearest minute instead of 5 minute intervals, to stretch groups needing more challenge. 16 rounds of an interactive Reveal the Picture Game (where teams compete to remove parts of a grid to reveal the hidden time in the image)   Please note that most of the text in the PowerPoint is editable, however the images are not. Many slides in the original PowerPoint version feature answers that appear when you click, for students to respond. An additional PDF version is included. While the PDF version does not retain the ability for teachers to reveal answers by clicking, it will still help you introduce and review this topic if you do not have PowerPoint where you work. Please note that the Hexagons and Reveal the Picture games are not compatible with PDF and are therefore omitted from that version.   A PDF file of flashcards / word wall cards for 12-hour time is also included in the Zip file.   FRENCH TELLING THE TIME WORKSHEETS AND PUZZLES:   SUPPORT PAGES: Word mats to display or print for students who require it, for 12 and 24-hour time, and in black and white too. Please note that these support pages are also contained in my printable games packet for this topic. WORKSHEETS: 10 worksheets (with answer keys), all in both 12 AND 24-hour versions, and all differentiated at least two ways using a star system. The 1-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students and almost all of these focus on quarter hour intervals. Many of the 2-star worksheets are in five minute intervals. For Worksheet 4, the 1-star version is in five minute intervals and the 2-star is to the nearest minute, to provide variety and extra challenge. The two “À quelle heure…?” worksheets (Les Activités / Le Transport) are differentiated 3 ways. PUZZLES: There’s an airport puzzle, hidden word puzzle, and maze. The airport puzzle is differentiated; the other two are not. The maze also does not have a 24h version.   FRENCH TELLING THE TIME PRINTABLE GAMES:   Four in a Row: There are 4 boards: word version and digital ones for both the 12 and 24-hour clocks. Print and laminate the ones you want for repeated use with dry-wipe markers. Enlarge if using with larger groups. First to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - wins. Dice required. “J’ai…Qui a…?” Loop Game: A speaking game for groups or the whole class. Print and laminate for repeated use. The 36 cards form a continuous loop so it doesn’t matter which one you start with. There are 3 versions – the first has an analog clock, the second has a digital clock, while the third version features French 24-hour time. Active Oral Game: Ideal for the whole class. Print and laminate the cards. Students walk around the room, asking and answering what time it is in French, using the time printed on their cards. The first pair to find the matching cards wins. There are 2 versions: an analog clock version for 12-hour time and a digital one you can use for 24-hour time. Serpents et Echelles Board Game: Print and laminate the board. It works like normal Chutes and Ladders / Snakes and Ladders, only with students calling out French words when they land on them. Answer key included. Sentences Board Game: Fun for oral practice. Board 1 is a simpler, 12-hour digital version, just in quarter hour intervals. Board 2 is for analog 12-hour time in 5 minute intervals and board 3 is for 24-hour time. Print and laminate. Instructions on board. Answer key included. Square Jigsaw: Laminate and cut the 16 puzzle pieces or have students cut up the black and white version. For an extra challenge, the letters on the outside edge of the puzzle form a related sentence. 2 versions, one for 12-hour time and one for 24-hour time. Students match analog clocks or digital times with French word version of time. Counter Throw Time Target Game: Combines math and French! Students throw a counter onto target each round and add elapsed time to their card in a race to finish a 10-step journey in the shortest time. They must read aloud their new time in French at each stage. Black and white target included. Full game instructions included.   EXPLORE MORE OF MY FRENCH RESOURCES… French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 1 French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 2 French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 3
