The Social Dilemma Listening

Three worksheets with questions and links to various short TED talks. I used these with National 4 in the run up to their listening assessment. There is also a generic BGE listening task which I used with various film trailers.
Extension Writing Tasks
A selection of short tasks (mostly writing-based) which are great for use as extension tasks. I printed them off, cut them up and let the pupils choose at random which ones they will complete.
Example: In your jotter, write a description of your favourite place. You should use the 5 senses to help you describe this place - sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell."

A PowerPoint designed to help pupils prepare for their SNSA - includes work on punctuation (commas, apostrophes etc.), clauses and various small tasks which test understanding. Can also be used as starter tasks.

Guy Fawkes
Associated resources surrounding Guy Fawkes night. Includes historical sources and scripts for the class to hold a trial as to whether Guy Fawkes was set up or whether he was guilty. Great for a wee bit of fun in the run up to December. I used it with S1 but could easily be adapted for other levels.

A unit of work on the novel Revolver by Marcus Sedgwick. Also includes a simple essay plan. I used this with an S1 Literacy class but it could easily be adapted for other levels.
