There is one presentations, one is 64 slides and covers all obstacles, the applied impact on individuals and meeting their needs. There are worksheets for students to make their notes and a case study activity which keeps the theme through the Level 1 and 2 homework tasks, all relevant PSA Task 5.

B3 The obstacles individuals requiring care may face (Task 5)
Learners will explore the personal obstacles that individuals requiring and receiving care may face.
Definition of obstacles: something personal to an individual that blocks a person moving forward or when action is prevented or made difficult.
Potential obstacles and their impact on the individual:
o emotional/psychological – lack of motivation, low self-esteem, acceptance of current state, anxiety, stress
o availability of resources – financial, equipment, amenities
o unachievable targets – unachievable for the individual or unrealistic timescale

It has two presentations, one is 17 slides and is an introduction into the differences between health and social care services. Social care is included as the PSA case study will face barriers which need overcoming with support which may be social care based. This will be built on the following week where primary, secondary and tertiary services are explained. The second is 27 slides and gives opportunities for paired/group or whole class discussions so students can make their notes on activity work sheets in their own words. These will be a source of reference in the PSA.
Students will be expected to know the eleven different health conditions listed below and have an understanding of PIES needs for each as a stepping stone for looking at the provision for meeting their health needs with services.

BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what is need in the life stage Birth to Infancy (0-2 years) for a Level 1 student
If you are following my SoW this is Week 2 is the delivery of all aspects covering growth and development in the first life stage, birth to infancy 0-2 years.
This is a basic timeline activity which covers;
Physical: rapid physical growth of weight and height, development of gross and fine motor skills, following the same pattern of growth and development but at different rates
Intellectual: rapid development of language and thinking skills such as memory/recall
Emotional: attachments are formed, emotional wellbeing is based on bonding/attachment, security and contentment
Social: strong dependence on adults/carers, socialisation through family, engage in solitary play
A student will need an A3 piece of landscape paper and a ruler
Along the way there are Pause-Points to encourage engagement, but the presentation is adaptable to suit you teaching style. Optional video’s are on certain slides, depending how you are getting on for time.

T-Level Health Science Supporting Adult Nursing Student Reflective Journal but can be adapted (Word document) for any number of courses.
The template for a weekly reflecting using Gibbs Reflective Cycle for students such as attendance, uniform (if applicable), punctuality and prepared to learn, homework and independent student and then progress that week in general.
The template for set task reflection can be used for exam/test, role play activity, presentation or group task etc
A presentation explains Gibbs Reflective Cycle and how to use the journal so getting in the habit from week 1 is advisable.
The Reflective Journal can be ring bound to be a formal document and (in theory) raise their attitude towards improving, progression and professional behaviours. This will map progress for tracking purpose and can be used in the classroom or on placement.
In the ESP Task 4 is reflection on Tasks 1-3 and in the 2nd year OSA Task 4 requires students to refer to their reflective portfolio. Correct skills for reflection must be developed and become habit.

BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care (2022) Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what the content for B1. Life Events; Lifes Circumstances and B2. Support that goes with the life events and an individuals disposition and outlook.
If you are following my SoW 2024-2025, this is Week 16, this now relates to PSA Task 3a (Life Event PIES) and 3b (Support) . There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There are activities aimed at building up student notes to have with them in the PSA and capture understanding and can be referred to whilst students complete the PSA Controlled Assessment. There is the continued literacy support with useful vocabulary, again and a case study example PIES.
There’s a 42 slide presentation covering all aspects surrounding life events and looking at both the positive and negative impact on PIES. There are lots of activities to get students thinking about the B1 and B2 words in the spec using a flow chart bringing ideas together.

BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 (2022 spec)- a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with.
This covers what the content for B1. Life Events; Relationship Changes and B2. Support that goes with the life events and the characteristic trait of emotional intelligence and resilience, which effects the capability to adapt to change
If you are following my SoW 2024-2025, this is Week 15, this now relates to PSA Task 3a (Life Event PIES) and 3b (Support) . There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There are activities aimed at building up student notes to have with them in the PSA and capture understanding and can be referred to whilst students complete the PSA Controlled Assessment. There is the continued literacy support with useful vocabulary, again and a case study example PIES.
All the spec content relates to Life Event surrounding relationship changes and is detail in the 41 slide presentation which has pause points for student contribution and breaks to complete their notes table which they can refer to in the actual PSA. There is a card match activity and a mock Task 3a and 3b which relates to divorce and marriage.
The content covered is:-
o entering into relationships
o marriage, civil partnership, long-term relationship
o divorce, separation for non-married couples
o parenthood
o bereavement
• resilience
• emotional intelligence
• disposition – a person’s character traits, e.g. positive, negative.
All the resources are in a format you can adapt to suit your need.
