An example character profile text about Rwandan refugee Christophe from the children’s novel Christophe’s Story by Nicki Cornwell. Pupils read the model text as a WAGOLL before analysing it and looking for features of explanation writing. The answers to the feature identification sheet are included for easy sharing in the classroom or online if remote learning.
