Lessons/ revision lessons for OCR Myth and Religion Symbols of Power These lessons take you through The Ara Pacis, Prima Porta, Temple and Bassae and The Amzonmachy as symbols of power. There is a focus on Augustus’ motivations in his use of architecture as propoganda and on how each piece symbolses the power of Greece/ Rome. There are also 3, 6, 8 and 15 mark questions. The information is all filled in for you, but you could take it out and get your pupils to fill in the grid about the Ara Pacis etc to create some independent work. There are links to videos (not mine but helpful and free online) to consolidate information for audio/visual learners.

An essay or creative writing marking matrix that is developed to mark for Literacy. It focuses on 5 areas giving a total mark out of 20. Created using GCSE Language marking criteria in English and combining with the QWC across 15 academic subjects. Can be used to mark pupils literacy and provide next steps to get to the next level. A booklet created for prep/ homework to improve cross curricula Literacy. One year worth of prep. Key words provided by Head of Departments across subjects. Meant to be used weekly throughout the year. Pupils to find definitions and write them down with tests the next week and area to record their scores. Extra vocabulary lists at back for stretch and challenge. We have been using this successful for three years.

A series of Literacy lessons aimed at KS3 pupils to reaffirm their KS2 Literacy teaching. 12 lessons with relevant worksheets. It is based on GCSE AQA specifications, but can be adapted for any year group or exam board- page numbers will need to be edited to your copy. A revision lesson for the Universal Hero unit. To be delivered in class with a 15 mark and a 8 mark to discuss and plan at the end related to Hercules. Information covered with links to videos (not mine- free online) that pupils can access for additional revision about the individual metopes. A revision lesson on the Foundations stories unit of Myth and Religion. Taking the pupils through detailed work on Aeneas with line of Alban Kings. Then Foundation stories links to videos (not mine but free) so they can cover the Kylix and the Birth of Athena. 8 marker planning provided and 15 mark questions you can plan together as a class.

A revision lesson for pupils on Roman Home and Family and Society Taking pupils through the Paterfamilas, Roman edcucation, Roman society, slaves, freedmen and Tomb of Naevolia Tyche. This is a lecture style lesson which I used for revision before the exam so mainly information but all information put together for you so you can add some extra tasks should you so wish. Could also be given to the students to revise from a few days before

A fun resources with activities such as word classification matching and bingo. Used as a revision for KS3 or KS2 pupils. There is also a focus on the impact of word choices at the end where the pupils look at verbs in an extract This is one example of a number of lessons that I have which are called ‘Literacy Focus’ I have this on for free, please do purchase the others in this series for £1 if they work for your class.

A lesson on sentence structure and composition, looking at simple, complex and compund with tasks for writing, indentifying and consideration of impact in extended pieces of writing. This is a free lesson but is part of the 12 lesson bundle that you can purchase which focuses on a variety of literacy topics.

A lesson on the AQA GCSE mark scheme, criteria and expectations in relation to the AOs. Analysis prompts and essay prompts allow students to create a fully developed essay in another lesson or for homework.

A video recorded for my pupils that covers Roman City Life Satire. This video talks through ‘discrimination at a dinner party’ by Pliny and then goes on to talk about Pliny’s life and history. I do have a cold in it so a little muffled on occasion, but it covers the text fully and provides a nice audio/ visual resources for revision to get pupils to annotate and discuss in lessons. Only 7 mintues.
