Print to A3, laminate and pop up on classroom doors. Teachers can add facts that the children have learnt so visitors to the classroom can discuss their learning with them/ check what they have remembered. E.g. Test us on our… 3 x table Ask us to spell… together Question us about… Fair Trade See if we can remember… how the water cycle works Use a dry wipe pen and you can keep updating through the year!

This is a link to the Canva template so you can fully edit the cards. They do not feature the inside out characters due to copyright but you can copy and paste your own images in - there is a free download of the character images on my TES - alternatively you can use any images you like or any you find in canva. The emotion vocab cards - which are large versions of the emotion trees - are also available on my TES and work well with these cards. I had these printed and made them into key rings and had them enlarged for our playground wall - my instagram shares more info!

A scaffold to support children looking at model texts and unpicking their key elements e.g. purpose, vocab/ phrases, writer techniques e.g. rhetorical questions, short sentences, personification, modal verbs, etc. This helps children build up an understanding of the intended impact of the text and how the writer creates this. From here children understand the ‘steps to success’ or ‘writer’s toolkit’ or whatever you may call it!
