Here is a resource which looks at the formation of a wide range of irregular verbs in French. This resource details in step by step form as to how to form the conjugation of irregular verbs. There are also thinking opportunities for students to conjugate irregular compound verbs. I have also attached a crossword if your students complete the work in this resource. I have also included a blockbusters game in the theme of irregular verbs. The rules are as follows: The idea of the game is to score a line through, blocking one’s opponent in the process. A through line can either be completed horizontally or vertically. Whichever hexagon one chooses, that person has to rule one dice and the number indicated on the dice will determine which subject he/she must conjugate with the verb. The numbers indicated on the dice are as follows: Je Tu Il Nous Vous Ils For example, if ‘dire’ is selected and the number shown on the dice is a ‘1’, that person will then have to conjugate ‘dire’ with ‘je’. If the player gives the correct answer, he/she can claim that square. If the answer is wrong, the turn then goes to the other team players. Happy teaching and learning!

Welcome to Stage 1-1 where the initial learning of conjugating verbs in French begins!! The purpose of this powerpoint is to become deeply acquainted with the formation of tenses and verbs, especially for those who have difficulties in doing so. This is a very good way of introducing the conjugation either when teaching it for the very first time or revision. This is the 1st stage of the learning process and there are 72 stages in the entire process. By the end of the 72nd stage, learners will have a developed a very profound mastery of not only forming nine different tenses which range with complexity upon progression, but also, an exhaustive range of different verbs which have been very carefully divided stage by stage. From initiating this process to reaching the 72nd stage, will take up the compulsory seven years from when learners become acquainted with tenses in French from the beginning of Key Stage 3 right up to the end of Key Stage 5 or A2 level. Upon completion of Stage 9-8, the final stage of the process, will immensely prepare students to pursue with their French studies at university level, where they will inevitably be using tenses. It is also suitable for adult learners, again whether they are learning it for the first time or revision. Joyeux Noël and welcome to the special addition of the house which is all Christmas themed!! This edition is assumed that the children have already learned the prepositions, the rooms of the house alongside the associated items and there is a preliminary quiz and various activities which reinforces this. This edition is very heavily differentiated which is tailored to the needs of the children, whatever their level. The main powerpoint explores various Christmas items with constant reinforcement and then followed by a quiz. There are also differentiated workbooks available in this pack and there are many activities which consolidate the learning of the Christmas vocabulary, including making a Christmas card!! The activities in the workbooks are as follows: Unscramble the words and colour in the pictures. The next section looks at the prepositions and once again, the children can choose the correct words in the white box below. Next, the gender of the words is explored and the children cut out and paste the pictures with the correct label. They can colour them in too if they wish. Next is the listening comprehension. The first part looks at single words and the children write the correct letter in the box according to the word. The second part is more complex and is formatted as ‘true or false’ questions. The children listen to the sentences and look at the picture and decide if the sentences are true or false. 8 sentences will be ‘true’ and 8 will be ‘false’. In the next section, the children fill in the missing words in the sentences by choosing the choice of answers in the box below the picture. The children read the instructions of the living room and the garden and they cut out and paste the pictures according to the given instructions. Spot the differences - children write down any 10 differences between the two pictures. If there is insufficient space in the workbook, they can write them in their exercise book. There is vocabulary available below the picture in order to assist them with this and you can model some example answers with them and use assessment for learning techniques to show they understand if required.
