Here is a fabulous resource for introducing ‘etre’ verbs to your students.
This resource contains a wealth of crossword puzzles exploring every single one of the 17 intransitive verbs. There is also a wordsearch where the students can search for the infinitives, before they become acquainted with the auxiliary verb and forming the verbs in the perfect tense.
In addition, the students have pages and pages of colouring in to do and conjugating all 17 intransitive verbs will keep them occupied for quite a long time and very good practice! This activity can be set during class time or as homework. It is also great revision for Key Stage 4 learners as well!

This powerpoint exclusively explores the four different ways of using the four different interrogative words for ‘which’ in French.
The first activity revises the demonstrative adjectives which the students could do as a warm-up activity. Subsequently, the powerpoint introduces the four different ways to express ‘which’ in French. As each one is explored, display each poster in the classroom to illustrate each meaning and it is a very resourceful way to make use of the working walls in the classroom. Throughout the powerpoint, the students will be acquainted with the verb ‘acheter’ and its conjugation. The students can note its conjugation as they progress through the powerpoint. When the students begin the production stage of the lesson, they can complete the activity on page 59 of the slide. The activities are differentiated and the students can choose which level best suits them. The answers are provided on the subsequent slides of the powerpoint.

This resources exclusively explores negatives primarily used in the perfect tense and some examples in the present tense. It is also Christmas themed.
As a starter / warm-up activity, ‘ne … pas’ is revised and this is introduced at Key Stage 3 level.
Next, get the students to read the cartoon examples and then get them to answer the questions which follow.
There is a subsequent quiz which follows and then differentiated follow-up activities. The answers are also provided on the subsequent slides.
For the bigger picture, get the students to write down responses to the cues in the conversation and then they can convert the conversation into a comic strip in which they can add some more detail to the conversation by more questions being asked to which the responses require a negative.
There is also a wordsearch that the students can do as a plenary or as an extra activity and there are also colourful visual aids contained with this resource. Feel free to put them up in the classroom as you teach the topic!

Hello and welcome to the first edition of the food shops in French!
The first edition is about at the sweet shop (à la confiserie)
The children will learn about different sweets in French and there are a lot of activities which reinforces and consolidation of the vocabulary. They will also leanr about the verbs ‘je veux’, ‘tu veux’, ‘je vais’, ‘tu vas’ and the preposition ‘de’ There are also differentiated stories which the children can read and answer questions on. Accompanied with the powerpoint, are differentiated workbooks with lots of activities and a colourful classroom display of the partitive and quantitative articles ‘de’.
The level 1 workbook is the lower level workbook and the level 2 one is the higher level one. In both the lower level and the higher level workbooks, the children will learn about the partitive and quantative article ‘de’. In the higher level workbook only, children of higher level ability will become acquainted with terms such as the prepositions ‘y’ and ‘en’.
In the workbooks, the activities are as follows:
Pages 2-8 (2-10 in level 2) - colour in the pictures (which children love doing!!)
Pages 9-27 (11-29 in level 2) - cut out the squares and paste them onto the masculine, feminine and plural partitive and quantitative article pages
Pages 28-34 (30-37 in level 2) - read the story and then answer the questions
Pages 35-36 (38-39 in level 2) - go over the practice words ‘je veux’, ‘tu veux’, ‘je vais’, ‘tu vas’
Page 37 (40-42 in level 2) - choose the correct answers
Page 38 (43 in level 2) - listening comprehension - you can call out the vocabulary and the children match up the question number to the correct item

This resource ultimately explores the use of the question words ‘lequel’, ‘laquelle’, ‘lesquels’ and ‘lesquelles’. There are plenty of examples and subsequent follow-up differentiated activities such as speaking practices, quizzes and written activities.

This classroom displays depicts 105 different places in the town in French from A-Z!! YES, that’s right, 105!!
Each poster is very informative as it contains the place in the town in French with the name in English using both the definite and indefinite article as appropriate, alongside the preposition ‘à’ with its meaning in English.
You don’t need to necessarily put up all 105 posters, but the classroom would look absolutely bright, engaging and colourful if you did! You can of course be very selective and put up the most common ones but it is of course up to you!!
Also included in this resource, are 20 different things that can be found in the town, such as the bus stop, telephone box, level crossing, etc. Feel free to put those up as well!
