Here is the fourth installment of the subjunctive.
As you know, mastering the subjunctive is tricky business and it is more geared towards A-Level French and at IB level. This activity basically describes more functions of the subjunctive in a nutshell in terms of hypothetical expressions and it contains step by step methods as to how to conjugate the irregular primary verbs such as ‘aller’, ‘etre’, ‘faire’ and ‘avoir’ alongside forming sentences with hypothetical expressions
Part 4 solely focuses on how to form irregular primary verbs in the subjunctive mood with revision from other verbs mastered from the previous installments
Accompanied with this resource, is a unique workbook, in which the expressions using expressions of certain conjunctions such as ‘'wherever’, ‘‘whether’, 'whoever’, etc, are incorporated in the form of a cartoon story where the students search for the expressions used. Before reading the story, I would recommend teaching the vocabulary in the powerpoint and get students to write out sample sentences. There are also subsequent activities, very similar to the ones in the powerpoint.
Parts 5-12 of the subjunctive are also available on my online shop, however I still have yet to modify the resources and install the workbooks for these parts. The powerpoint lesson in these parts are only available at the moment.
Keep an eye out for the sequels to the other functions of the subjunctive. I still have to put them up.
Happy teaching and learning!

Welcome to Part 1 of the subjunctive.
As you know, mastering the subjunctive is tricky business and it is more geared towards A-Level French. This activity basically describes one function of the subjunctive in a nutshell and it contains step by step methods as to how to form it.
Part 1 solely focuses on how to form regular ‘-er’ verbs in the subjunctive mood alongside expressions of outbursts of emotion.
Accompanied with this resource, is a unique workbook, in which the expressions using bursts of emotion are incorporated in the form of a cartoon story where the students search for the expressions used. Before reading the story, I would recommend teaching the vocabulary in the powerpoint and get students to write out sample sentences. There are also subsequent activities, very similar to the ones in the powerpoint.
Parts 2-12 of the subjunctive are also available on my online shop, however I still have yet to modify the resources for parts 5-12 and install the workbooks for these parts. The powerpoint lesson in these parts are only available at the moment.
I have also created a quiz on Kahoot. Feel free to try out the quiz. Here is the link:

The subjunctive can be briefly introduced at IGCSE French level as students can be encouraged to implement more complex grammar structures in their writing in order to boost their marks further and is widely used as A-Level. Because the subjunctive can be used in so many different contexts and situations, I have devised its concept into various installments. This bundle includes the whole set consisting of the twelve installments of the subjunctive which are as follows:
Part 1: Regular ‘-er’ verbs and expressions of emotion
Part 2: Regular ‘-ir’ verbs and expressions of obligation and desire
Part 3: Regular ‘-re’ verbs and certain conjunctions
Part 4: Irregular primary verbs ‘aller’, ‘etre’, ‘avoir’ and ‘aller’ with hypothetical expressions
Part 5: Irregular ‘-re’ verbs and possibility and necessity
Part 6: Irregular ‘-ir’ verbs - fear, anxiety and forbidding
Part 7: Connaitre and savoir with superlatives and extremity
Part 8: More irregular ‘-ir’ verbs and other conjunctions
Part 9: Reflexive and impersonal verbs + hypothetical state
Part 10: The past subjunctive using ‘avoir’ verbs + miscellaneous expressions which require either the subjunctive or the indicative
Part 11: The past subjunctive using ‘etre’ verbs + inverted questions such as ‘pensez-vous que …’, ‘crois-tu que …’
Part 12: The past subjunctive using reflexive verbs + a revision of all expressions which either require the subjunctive or the indicative.

Hello,
This is a very colourful classroom display depicting the numbers from 1-105, which would be useful to put up in your classroom as 2024 is drawing to an end and as we welcome 2025!!
Each page expresses the year each person was born and their age in French, taking 2025 to be the current year. Alongside these details, translation of the numbers into English and Chinese are also featured.
Depending on the size of your classroom, but you can print out the pages in A4 size and put them up along the breadth of the classroom.
Just to reiterate, this resource is 2025 themed.

Hello everyone and welcome to the first edition of the days of the week in French. This edition focuses on ‘lundi’ (Monday in French). Introducing a day of the week one day at a time might be advantageous for students who find learning a foreign language difficult, especially when they become overburdened with learning all of the days of the week at once.
This pack includes:
Powerpoint of the story with questions and answers, followed by a quiz.
First of all, introduce the word ‘lundi’ and play games with the word such as the hot and cold game. Get the children to read the story and ask them questions after each picture and them ask them to complete the quiz. There are differentiated questions in the quiz. ‘Level B’ represents the easier level and ‘level A’ represents the higher level questions.
A workbook
Page 2 - The children can colour in the words and the flags of the different countries where ‘Monday’ is translated into the home languages
Pages 3-5 - A duplication of the story where the children can read it at their own leisure or follow it while reading the story on the powerpoint
Pages 6-8 - The children can colour in the pictures of the story at their own leisure
Pages 9-10 - The children answer the questions on the story and they can explain in English why the statements are false
Page 11 - The children copy out the word ‘lundi’ on the light grey font
Page 12 - The children find the word ‘lundi’ as many times as they can. The word ‘lundi’ appears 21 times.
Page 13 - The children write dates on the crossword according to the clues given (you can do this only if they know dates in French. You can just skip this section if they haven’t yet done numbers 1-31 and the months of the year)
Pages 14-16 - Cut out the dates for the ‘missing Mondays’ on the calendar for January 2025. They can cut out the dates for Monday on page 16 and then stick them on the calendar on page 14.
The subsequent days of the week will be appearing shortly and then a edition in which all the days of the week will be consolidated at once. Please do keep an eye out for these.
Happy teaching and learning!
